My favourite film. Adapted from the successful stage show in New York, it follows the story of a transexual from east Germany on her quest to find true love and to get the credit she deserves for the songs she wrote. The story of her past is told through flashbacks and through the music (which are quite listenable on their own), while the present is told in the third person as Hedwig tours in restaurants in the shadow of her former boyfriend who stole her songs and performs to sell out stadium concerts.  

My words cannot do this film justice it so deserves, I urge everyone to go out and find this brilliant film.
